• Preparation of Environmental Statement (ES) in accordance with the requirements of The Offshore Production and Pipelines (Assessment of Environmental Effects) Regulations.
• Identification of measures currently available for reducing the emission of greenhouse gases from offshore installations.
• Evaluation of emissions reduction measures in cost terms and cost savings per equivalent tonne of emission avoided.
• Identification and assessment of emerging technologies currently being developed which may allow reduced emissions of greenhouse gases in the future.
• Assessment of energy transmission and carbon dioxide capture facility issues, leading to the development of a model for use in providing high level cost estimates for the evaluation of various options for energy transmission and carbon dioxide capture.
• Identification and review of barriers to carbon dioxide storage that may result from gaps in industry standards and regulation.
