Assessment of the limits of the area affected by the incident, gathering information with respect to damage to equipment and systems in accordance with API 579 (recommended practice for Fitness-For-Service and Continued Operation of Equipment).
Development of an agreed inspection and test plan.
Review the results of the equipment inspection and testing and where necessary undertake additional design checks to ensure fitness for service.
Provide advice on whether equipment could be re-used, could be economically repaired or should be replaced.
